Facts prove otherwise, during this time people always assume that too much sleep can make more belly fat. Experts, however, proved a study revealed that people who sleep less tend to be fat. Because it was a doctor believes this is a good time to address obesity with more sleep.
"We are giving too much emphasis on diet and exercise so as not to see the benefits of sleep," says Fred Turek, a physician at Northwestern University, USA.
Reportedly, the experts from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, who examined 1,000 people found that total sleep time increased or decreased in accordance with a body mass index (BMI), a method of measuring the weight on the basis of body height.
The researchers found that total sleep time decreased with increasing BMI. Average sleep time 27 minutes fewer men than women, and sleep time with overweight people and fewer people with obesity compared with normal weight patients. In general, the more fat they slept 1.8 fewer hours per week compared with normal weight
" Americans experience insufficient sleep and body fat. The doctors know the burden of overweight patients, "the research report published in the Archives of Internal Medicine. "Our findings suggest, an additional 20 minutes of sleep per night is closely related to low body mass index."
In an editorial accompanying the research report, Turek said, some research shows that sleep terpangkasnya cause a decline in appetite-suppressing hormone called leptin, and increases hormones that trigger appetite. In summary, the neuropeptide in the brain that regulates sleep and obesity appear to work overlaps.
For those of you who are overweight there is nothing wrong with trying to extend their hours of your afternoon nap, to be more fit and form a more perfect body.
